What is Thermosleeve?
Thermosleeve is the newest addition to the Hydragun family of recovery products. It is a 360 hot and cold compression sleeve designed to provide immediate relief for joint and muscle pain.
Being a 360 versatile compression sleeve, it is multi-functional to be used on basically all limbs such as thighs, calves, knees, arms, elbows, wrists and ankles. The Thermosleeve by Hydragun also functions as a weighted cold or hot pack, where you can rest it over your shoulders.
Hydragun being a company that believes in providing users with the best experience using their products, the Thermosleeve compression sleeves are made using a material named, ThermoGel.
The ThermoGel is specially formulated for easy care while having antimicrobial and non-toxic properties. It is also made to maintain warmth or cold for 10 minutes, which is the recommended treatment duration by medical experts.
Who is Hydragun?
Hydragun is a performance technology company founded in Singapore. The company produces recovery products that help users reach peak performances.
Even though the company headquarters is in Singapore, their products are shipped to over 70 countries. Most of the shipping is done locally to ensure the best service and delivery from these countries – Australia, Singapore, the United States and South Korea.
Hydragun is most well-known for its cutting edge massage gun, which is the quietest massage gun I have ever used. Not forgetting to mention the ergonomics behind this piece of recovery device.
WIth the Thermosleeve as its newest addition to the line of products, I am looking forward to seeing what Hydragun has to bring in the future.
For now, let’s run through my experience of using the Thermosleeve over a three week period.
Experience with Thermosleeve Over 21 Days
I wanted to give you the most honest review you can find on the internet, which is why I had to assess the product over a period of time. I am placing my bets that this is enough for you to make a decision on whether the Thermosleeve is good for you or not.

Delivery Time & Rates
Since Hydragun ships locally from Melbourne, I got my Thermosleeves fairly quickly. I ordered 2 sleeves, one medium and one large.
As they were shipped via express by Australia Post, I received the Thermosleeves the next business day. It is amazing how fast it is considering Australia Post being inundated with many parcels at the moment. I guess it also helps that I live in Melbourne too.
Delivery times for regular shipping in Australia takes 4-7 business days while expedited shipping takes 1-2 business days. While regular shipping is free, expedited shipping will set you back between $4 to $17 (depending on weight).
For example, the expedited shipping with cost $4 for 1 Thermosleeve compression sleeve, while it is $17 for the Hydragun Massage Gun.
Packaging
In terms of packaging, each of the boxes was protected by cardboard boxes taped together. Nothing really special about it but it was nice knowing they were protected well for delivery.
After removing the cardboard protection, I see 2 black boxes with Hydragun’s logo and some information about Thermosleeve. They look sleek and sophisticated just like Hydragun’s logo. The packaging they had with the massage gun was so point I was really looking forward to this one.
The packaging for Thermosleeve is simple and straightforward, I like that. Not quite as interesting as the massage gun’s packaging but it does what it is designed for.
Once opened, there is an information and guide booklet, and a pouch containing the compression sleeve. The pouch feels smooth and it does look durable enough to withstand rough handling, especially when you take the Thermosleeve for travels.
Quality and Feel
Hydragun never disappoints with the quality of the products they produce. The same can be said about the quality of Thermosleeve compression sleeves.
At first glance, the compression sleeves look like a plain grey sleeve printed with a Hydragun logo. However, the feeling is so different from anything I have ever touched.
The material used is so soft to touch. I immediately knew this was comfortable to wear. Of course, I have to be skeptical about everything when assessing a product.
So I turn the sleeve inside out to check on the seam and how secure it is. Be rest assured that the seam is secure, no fray threads, and absolutely divine to touch.
I thought I would feel the inner folding when I put on the compression sleeve but I never noticed it was there. That’s how soft it is. It does not irritate my skin either. I have dry sensitive skin if you are curious.
Size and Weight
There are 3 different sizes to choose from when you order a Thermosleeve. They are small, medium and large.
Size | Measurement |
---|---|
Small | 20.5 – 25.5 cm |
Medium | 25.5 – 33 cm |
Large | 33 – 40.5 cm |
For measurement instruction, just visit the FAQ section of the Thermosleeve product page.
I usually freak out and feel anxious when purchasing things online that require me to measure myself because I do not know if the size I pick is correct.
With the compression sleeve, I did not have to worry about it because Hydragun offers free exchanges in Australia, Singapore and the United States if we happen to order the incorrect size. A plus point for us who live in Australia – one less thing to worry about purchasing something online.
As mentioned at the top of this article, the compression sleeves do feel a little bit heavy. Well, they are supposed to feel that way as weighted sleeves.
When you do put the sleeve on, I suggest you stay in place without moving around too much as it slid off a little bit from my thigh when I walked around while wearing it.
In short, just rest and relax for about 10 minutes when you have them on. It will probably help you recover faster and better.
Being the curious person I am, I placed both sleeves on my kitchen scale just to see how much they weigh.
Here they are:
578 grams for a size Medium and 650 grams for a size large.
Ease of Use
Comfort
This all-rounder compression sleeve is so versatile that it can be used on different parts of the body. You can basically wear it on all limbs namely the arm, wrist, elbow, thigh, knee, calf and ankle.
It is a tube-shaped sleeve so you can easily slip it on where you feel you would like to treat.
Since I constantly work out throughout the week and push my body too hard, I sometimes experience knee discomfort, back pain, shoulder tightness and neck stiffness.
Over the 3 weeks, I treated myself to 5-10 minutes a day using the Thermosleeves either by using them as hot packs or cold packs or plainly just as they are. I also exercised, as usual, doing cardio and strength training.
The best feeling I had was when I wore Thermosleeve as a compression sleeve on my right knee, where I feel discomfort most of the time. I felt like the discomfort was slowly disappearing as time went by.
When 10 minutes was up, I removed the sleeve and did some squats to see if my knee feels any better. Just as expected, my right knee felt as good as new. I did not feel like I was an old woman with a clicky knee every time I did workout squats or lunges.
Multi-Functional
Not only it is so easy to slip on and off, but it is also extremely easy to convert the Thermosleeve into a cold pack or hot pack.
All you need to do for a cold pack is to keep the sleeve in its pouch and stick it into the freezer for 2 hours. You can also leave it in the freezer overnight as the ThermoGel is freezer safe.
When I first left it in the freezer, I had almost forgotten about it so I took it out 4 hours later. The Thermosleeve still feels soft albeit really cold so I left it out on my table to increase the temperature a little bit before slipping it on. This is to prevent cold burns on direct skin.
For a hot pack, remove the sleeve from its pouch and place it into a 1000 W microwave for 10-20 seconds.
I have an 800 W microwave so I warmed the sleeve up by microwaving 10 seconds at a time for about 3 times until it is warm enough to slip on without burning my skin.
This time, I rested the Thermosleeve over my left shoulder as I felt a little sore from lifting dumbbells the day before. Not even 5 minutes in, my shoulder did not feel as tight and sore as before. I felt good. I was just happy that I got to try this multi-functional compression sleeve slash cold and hot pack.
Cleaning
The material used to produce Themosleeve is of anti-microbial and odour-resistant properties so it is very easy to maintain. All you need to do is to air it out after each use and place it back into the pouch for storage. This is to prevent the ThermoGel from drying out and losing its function.
To clean, just hand wash the Thermosleeve with soap and water and let it out to air dry. I did it to test and the compression sleeve dries fairly quickly. After washing, I placed it on my clothes rack to air dry. To speed up the drying process, I turned up the fan and Thermosleeve was ready to be worn in a few hours.
Just remember not to pop it into your washing machine or dryer as cautioned by Hydragun.
Other Ways of Using – With Hydragun Massage Gun
If you want to feel even better and for a quicker recovery, combine wearing the Thermosleeve with the Hydragun Massage Gun.
All you need to do is to use any of the metal head attachments from the massage gun and float the massage gun over the spot that you have the compression sleeve on.
Here is what I did:
I am happy to report that I am very satisfied with the results. I did not feel any discomfort wearing Thermosleeve and using the Hydragun Massage Gun at the same time.
